Shipping and Delivery
Acosta Strong Fine Art takes great care in preparing, handling, and delivering every purchase. Because artworks and many of the objects we sell are unique, fragile, or one of a kind, the following policies apply unless different terms are confirmed in writing before a purchase is finalized.
Shipping Methods
Orders are shipped or delivered from Acosta Strong Fine Art in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
Depending on the artwork’s size, value, fragility, destination, and installation requirements, delivery may be arranged through:
- FedEx or another insured common carrier;
- A professional white-glove art handling service; or
- Delivery by Acosta Strong Fine Art.
The gallery will select or recommend the shipping method it considers appropriate for the safe delivery of the purchase.
Shipping Costs
Acosta Strong Fine Art offers complimentary shipping on many purchases as a courtesy. Complimentary shipping is not guaranteed for every item or destination and applies only when it is stated on the product page, at checkout, on the invoice, or in the gallery’s written sales confirmation.
Certain purchases may require the customer to pay all or part of the shipping, packing, crating, handling, insurance, or delivery costs. This commonly applies to oversized, especially fragile, high-value, long-distance, expedited, international, or white-glove deliveries.
When the customer is responsible for all or part of these costs, the amount or arrangement will be disclosed and agreed upon before the sale is finalized. The gallery and customer may also agree in writing to share the cost of shipping or delivery. Acosta Strong Fine Art will not add an undisclosed shipping charge after an order has been finalized.
If an online payment is received before a custom shipping quote can be prepared, the gallery will provide the quote for approval before shipment. If the customer declines the quote, the order may be canceled and the payment returned.
Processing and Delivery Estimates
Most purchases shipped through FedEx are prepared for shipment within 3–7 business days after payment has cleared and shipping arrangements have been confirmed. Estimated FedEx transit time is generally 2–7 business days after pickup.
White-glove art delivery and gallery delivery are scheduled individually. Preparation and scheduling generally take 5–15 business days, and transit may take approximately 1–6 weeks, depending on the artwork, destination, carrier route, and the customer’s availability.
These timeframes are estimates rather than guaranteed delivery dates. Custom crating, weather, carrier delays, holidays, remote destinations, or circumstances beyond the gallery’s control may extend delivery times. The gallery will communicate known delays and provide an updated estimate when possible.
Tracking, Insurance, and Delivery
When available, tracking or delivery information will be provided after the shipment has been collected by the carrier. Shipments may be insured and may require an adult signature at delivery.
Customers are responsible for providing a complete and accurate delivery address and for being available to receive a scheduled shipment. Additional costs resulting from an incorrect address, missed appointment, storage, redelivery, or refused delivery may be charged to the customer.
International delivery, when available, will be quoted separately. Unless otherwise agreed in writing, the customer is responsible for any customs duties, import taxes, brokerage fees, or other destination-country charges.
Returns, Exchanges, and Refunds
All Sales Are Final
Except where otherwise required by applicable law or expressly agreed in writing before the sale, all sales are final.
Acosta Strong Fine Art does not ordinarily accept returns or exchanges and does not provide refunds for buyer’s remorse, a change of mind, differences in color or appearance between a screen and the physical work, scale or placement concerns, or an inability to install or display the purchase.
Customers are encouraged to request additional photographs, measurements, condition information, or a viewing appointment before purchasing.
Discretionary Exceptions
Although customers do not have an automatic right to return a purchase, Acosta Strong Fine Art may, at its sole discretion, consider a written request for an accommodation when circumstances warrant.
Requests must be made within 14 calendar days after delivery. Approval is not guaranteed, and no item may be returned without prior written authorization from the gallery.
If the gallery approves an exception:
- The item must be returned in its original condition with all accompanying documentation and materials;
- The customer is responsible for approved packing, return shipping, handling, and insurance costs;
- Original shipping, delivery, crating, handling, and insurance costs already incurred are nonrefundable; and
- The gallery may offer an exchange, store credit, partial refund, or full refund, depending on the circumstances.
Any approved refund or credit will be processed after the item has been received and inspected. Processing generally takes up to 10 business days. The time required for a refund to appear in the customer’s account may vary by financial institution.
A discretionary accommodation in one instance does not alter this policy or create an obligation to approve future requests.
Damaged, Lost, or Incorrect Items
Please inspect the shipment promptly upon delivery. Visible damage should be noted with the carrier before accepting or signing for the shipment whenever possible.
If a purchase arrives damaged, appears to have been damaged in transit, or is not the item ordered, contact the gallery within 48 hours of delivery. Please provide:
- The customer’s name and order or invoice number;
- Photographs of the item;
- Photographs of the exterior and interior packaging; and
- A description of the damage or other issue.
Please retain the item and all original packaging until the gallery or carrier provides further instructions. Do not return an item without written authorization.
The gallery will review the matter and coordinate with the carrier when appropriate. Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, the gallery may arrange a repair, replacement when available, exchange, store credit, or refund.
