Creating art has been a constant throughout Robbins’ life. Raised in a suburb of New York City, her early creative vision was shaped by the intense, artistic collage of the city and the serene, coastal beauty of her Connecticut town. However, it was her move westward that truly ignited her passion for the landscape.
Robbins spent years traveling the Western parklands extensively, observing the intricate details of local flora and fauna. This deep immersion led to a highly successful career as an independent filmmaker, creating nature and landscape films that earned her twenty-four awards in national and international film festivals. To Robbins, cinematography was poetry in motion. Looking through the camera lens heightened her senses to the vivid colors, patterns, and changing light of nature—an acute visual training that now profoundly influences her original studio art.
